60-30-10 approach to a less stressful life.

G‘day folks

Over the past few weeks I have been discussing what I call the 60-30-10 approach to life. I would like to say that this is an original idea…but it’s not. My problem is that I not recall where I heard this. It might be Jordan Petersen, Jay Sherry, or Chris Williamson.

If you know, drop a comment so I can give credit where credit is due.

The 60-30-10 approach will help you identify those negative read in your life you have spent too much time and energy on It will also help you refocus your energies on the areas that will increase the positivity in your life.

So…how does it work? All, you do is divide things in your life into 3 groups: 60% 30%, and 10%.

Now, a practical example. Think of the people in your life. Who builds you up and supports you when you are down; And who drags you down? Make a list of these people, and then allocate them to the appropriate amount of your time, energy, and attention.

For example, if someone is negative and always complaining but you cannot or do not want to cut them out of your life. However, they can drag you down. Then you can place them in the 10% category.

Now, if there is someone who is always there for you, helps you up when you are down. Or, makes you laugh when you need it. You can place them in the 60% category. After all, this is the type of person you should have around to make you feel good.

Other people that sit somewhere between the two types of people, and they can be allocated to the 30% category. By doing this, you can now see who deserves your time and energy. Now, you can focus your time and energy on the positives in your life. And manage the negatives in your own time.

If you are having trouble taking up this challenge, then reach out and make an appointment. We can work together to make your life less stressful.
